GRADO

The main purpose of the project is the use of an economical and less appreciated material within the furniture design market. It is about making the design accessible to different types of market.

Starting from a material with a constant thickness, an ergonomic profile is projected in two dimensions, which is subjected to a gradual repetition to be cut to numerical control and thus, to be able to generate a volume in three dimensions.

In the case of the chair, the offset of each of these profiles generates a play of shadows which emphasizes the continuous movement. The stool amplifies that sensation of movement with the four legs interwoven with each other, giving it a continuous sense, like a perpetual cycle.

The manufacturing and assembly process is clearly reduced, in order to reduce costs and give access to a larger audience.
